Vivi Verde (Green life), spring festival full of sport and cultural events that liven the weekends and attract many a visitor.
The Triathlon Championship - X–Terra. Running for several years now during the month of June, Villacidro hosts the only Italian stage of the world championship and receives curious and enthusiastic participants from all 5 continents.
L’Estate Villacidrese (Villacidro summer): from July to September: music, showings, shows and sport.
Carnevale delle Bande Musicali (Musical band carnival). Masks, music and instruments liven the town’s streets.
Sant’Isidoro. The second Sunday in May. Cheerful floats, traccas (wagons, pulled by two oxes and elaborately decorated with material or embroiderd cloth) and many folk groups accompany the patron saint of the farmers.
Cherry festival. The last week in May. Cherry tasting and cherries for sale along with plenty other local products
San Sisinnio Holy day. The first Sunday in August. The “great Holy day”: a solemn procession accompanies the saint’s relics to the country church. Celebrations then follows in the squares for several days with dances, music and shows.
