Villacidro: Narti Nuraghe

Narti nuraghe is a testament to the presence of nuragic man in the territory of Villacidro; this nuraghe is situated in one of the most fertile valleys of the area, on the banks of the Narti torrent. Identified as a single towered nuraghe that dates back to the most ancient phases of nuragic civilization, it is however, hidden, at least in part, by structures and stone materials recently accumulated that could hide further specimens. The tower has a plan that forms a perfect circle, with a circular room around 4 meters in diameter, at present full of collapsed debris, it was mainly built from local granite, most probably taken from the bed of the nearby torrent.

Author’s words

The island, in essence is as it was during Nuragic times... memories of this immeasurable time (whose dimensions are as unfamiliar to us as are those of Space and the Universe), memories of continuity [...], can be found intact in every piece of this ancient old land…

The antiquity of this land is not greatly extended through out the centuries nor architecturally compound, yet reduced to fragments, spores, each of which holds the archetype of original/native fungo pelasgico. (Giuseppe Dessì - Sardegna una civiltà di pietra)
