The museum was set up in 1994 by the “Associazione Culturale Sa Moba Sarda” and has been hosted in Dona Maxima House since 2000, the last heir of the Orrù family. The building, dating back to around the 500s, today preserves traditions, customs and costumes of the San Gavino past.
The halls offer several themes: history of the territory reconstructed via archaeological findings in the area, the history of the ancient professions presented via instruments and tools, and the industrial history linked to the setting up of the foundry.
