Amongst the many churches that could be found in the territory, San Giorgio Church is the only one to survive.
The small sanctuary’s present day appearance dates back to 1872, the only precise date in this building’s history.
The Saint’s statue, kept safe at the San Nicolò parish, dates back to the same year, it is taken back to its original location on the occasion of the Holy Day.
The area has certainly been frequented since by gone days, as numerous findings and the many, more recent, mills run from the Is Molinus River dating back to Nuragic and Roman époques demonstrate. The area is especially famous for its naturalistic and landscape resources: a large block of isolated granite called “Sa rocca incuaddigada” (horse rock) stands, surrounded by a dense cork oak wood moistened by the numerous mineral water springs.
